Wedding Packages and options

These packages (plus the “Optional Services,” below, and the “a la carte” list) show what most couples would like for their wedding coverage. If you are interested in coverage of another type of event or would like to create your own “package,” please call us and we will work with you to provide you with exactly what you need. (All prices are subject to 5.3% Virginia sales tax.)

Recommendations

Although you are the ultimate decider regarding what package you will choose, here are a few guidelines:

  • If you are getting married in a small venue (a small church, for instance), it is probably better to stick with one videographer (Bronze or Silver packages). Ditto for photographers, by the way. In a small venue it’s too easy for multiple people to get in each other’s way.
  • If you expect to have more than 150 guests or more than five bridesmaids, it is a good idea to go with a two-videographer package (Gold or Platinum packages). The reason for this is that it is too easy for a guest or member of the wedding party to stand in front of one camera – and the extra camera operator can help compensate.
  • If you are having a “blowout” wedding with 350 guests or more, I would recommend the Diamond Package. You get a lot more for not much more money.
  • About price: You pay a LOT of money for food and cakes and never see ANY of that after your wedding. A video and photography will be something that will last a LIFETIME. It will be viewed by you, family, children, and friends for many years! When you think of how much you pay for the artistry of a ring created by a professional, you can understand the cost of the photography and videography of your wedding. (We probably spend more time on your photography and video than the jeweler did on your rings!) At the end of the day, all of us are artists just like the baker and the jeweler. We are creating a lifetime of memories.

The items shown in red print in each package show how that package is upgraded from the next package.

Suggestions:
  • If you are thinking about drone coverage, which is becoming more popular, consider whether you just want an aerial view of the neighborhood before the guests arrive or if you want “live” coverage during the ceremony and/or reception. The latter will cost more due to time required and the precautions required when operating a drone in the presence of all the guests. I employ a separate operator for the drone coverage.
  • If you have family members who cannot attend the wedding but would like to, we can livestream it – or you can just purchase an extra DVD and let them watch it later. Livestream is more fun, since it’s in “real time.” On the other hand, an extra DVD is by far the less expensive option.
  • Many people ask for the “raw footage,” expecting that there may be something worthwhile that didn’t make it to the DVD. There’s usually a reason that something isn’t included on the DVD – it isn’t interesting, somebody was standing in front of the camera, the quality is poor, and so on. Raw footage is really raw – it’s the straight output from each camera and has no color correction, image enhancement or sound sweetening. We watch all the footage and only include the best footage that will make the wedding video look good.
